Answers to all your questions about the FourteenPointFive experience
Using the Scoreboard
Does my group have to use the 28-point scoring format?
No, you do not - we created the 28-point scoring format to provide an easy and fun way to guide your trip competition and mimic the vibe of the Ryder Cup competition. As avid golfers ourselves, we know how tough it can be to come up with scoring and games for a competition amongst a group. But you are free to choose your own scoring format and games, and can simply write those on your Scoreboard!
Can I make changes to the Scoreboard format with custom matchups or games that are not listed as an option in your Customizer?
If you have special requests, email us at inquiries@fourteenpointfive.com with the details. We will do all we can to accommodate requests and let you know if we can make it happen! The more lead time we have before your trip, the better the chance we can accommodate changes.
What if my trip size doesn't fit your player / number of rounds options?
Send us an email at inquiries@fourteenpointfive.com with the details of your trip. We'll let you know if we accommodate your specific needs! The more lead time we have before your trip, the better the chance we can accommodate.
Scoreboard Logistics - Ordering and Shipping
How far ahead of my trip do I need to purchase a Scoreboard?
Custom Scoreboards must be purchased at least 2 weeks (14 days) prior to your trip start date, and Standard Scoreboards must be purchased at least 1 week (7 days) prior to your trip start date.
What shipping address do I use for my order?
If flying to your golf trip, use an address at your destination. Examples: The hotel, resort, rental property, the first golf course you are playing, a local shipping store, private residence, etc.
If driving to your golf trip, we recommend shipping to your home address, and bringing the board with you.
Can you provide recommendations for shipping to each type of location?
Hotel / Resort:
- Always reach out to a hotel or resort to confirm they can accept and hold a shipment for you. Most gladly will, but on rare occasions they will not accept and store a shipment.
- Confirm the address you should ship to. Some hotels and resorts may require shipping to a specific address based on their operations or where you are staying or playing.
Rental Property:
- Always reach out to the management company or property "host" to let them know a shipment is coming and ask what the best approach is. If the management company or host is located nearby, most will gladly hold onto the shipment for you. Some may ask you to ship to a different address than where you are staying so it is not left sitting at the rental property with other guests or unattended.
- If shipping to the rental property or management office of the rental company is not an option, we recommend shipping to a shipping store (see Local Shipping Store section below) or shipping to the first golf course you are playing (see First Golf Course You are Playing section below)
First Golf Course You are Playing
- Always reach out to the golf course to confirm they can accept and hold a shipment for you. Most will gladly hold onto the box being shipped, but on rare occasions they will not.
Local Shipping Store
- Always reach out to the local Shipping Store at your trip location (UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc) to confirm they can accept and hold a shipment for you. Most will gladly hold onto the box being shipped, but on rare occasions they will not.
Private Residence
- A signature is not required for home delivery, however, in rare instances a driver will choose require it. Generally drivers will deliver shipments at the front door of the residence.
- If being delivered to an apartment building/complex, shipments may go to the lobby, main office or designated shipping and receiving area of the location.
- If the delivery driver is not comfortable leaving your shipment at the location without a signature, your shipment may be reloaded and another delivery attempt will take place the next business day.
What Will My Scoreboard be shipped in?
Each Scoreboard is shipped in a protective, padded cardboard box
How to Customize Scoreboard
After checkout, how do I customize my Scoreboard?
After your order is confirmed, a button saying "Customize This Board!" will appear on screen. Clicking this button will lock in your order number in our system and take you to one more screen where you will again see a "Customize Your Scoreboard" button to click. After clicking this, our Scoreboard Customizer screen will load and you are ready to add all your trip details. Make sure to click SAVE as you make changes and additions!
Can I see the Customizer before ordering so I know how it works?
Absolutely. We created a demo of the Customizer that mirrors the real thing for exactly this reason. You can access it here and play around with it - but please note that you can not save anything in it and you can not transfer inputs from this demo to the true Customizer used after ordering.
What if I don't have all my trip details when I buy or want to change them in the future? Can I come back to the Customizer?
No problem! You do NOT need to enter all of your customizations at once. In fact, you don't have to add any right away. You have until 2 weeks (14 days) before your trip start date to enter customizations for your Scoreboard. To make changes or additions, simply come back to our site and open your order to access the Customizer. And don't worry - we'll send reminder emails as you approach your customization cutoff date so you don't forget!
What if I don't have all the details or don't want to print all of the information in your Customizer on my Scoreboard? Can I leave sections blank?
Yes - you can enter as many or as few of the customization options as you'd like! Any sections left blank will also be blank on the Scoreboard you receive with a line, box or area to write that information in with a marker during your trip.
What is the deadline for adding customizations to my Scoreboard?
You have until 2 weeks (14 days) before your trip start date to enter and SAVE customizations for your Scoreboard. And don't worry - we'll send reminder emails as you approach your customization cutoff date so you don't forget!
