Umbrella
Get your calculators out! Umbrella is a progressive points game, played with a partner, where holes become more valuable the deeper into the match you are.
Rules & Scoring
Playing Rules
Every hole has five points allocated, one for each of the following scoring metrics:
- Low net individual score
- Low net combined score of all team players
- Green in regulation for teammate 1
- Green in regulation for teammate 2
- Any golfer on team makes a net birdie
Points for each scoring metric are equal to the hole number being played
- For example, on the 1st hole, all scoring metrics are worth 1 point
- On the 15th hole, all scoring metrics are worth 15 points
Ties on any scoring metrics result in 0 points for both teams
- For example, if on the 7th hole both teams record the same low net score, rather than both teams receiving 7 points, both teams receive 0 points
Umbrella - if any team sweeps all five scoring metrics on a hole, the total points double on that hole
- For example, if on the 5th hole one team wins all 25 points, the total points won for that hole doubles to 50
Feel free to add, remove or modify the scoring metrics
- For example, receive points for getting up and down for par from off the green in regulation
